WEBINAR (free): Using the Impediment List

We are holding another online webinar!

Topic: Using the Impediment List

Cost: Free

Description:

As some know, “Impediment List” is one of many patterns in “A Scrum Book“, a recent book on Scrum Patterns by Jeff Sutherland, James Coplien et al.  This is in the great tradition of ideas around continuous improvement.

A real key to notable success with Scrum!

This one, (Impediment List) has been a favorite pattern of ours for years now.

A Complaint we hear: Some people say “fix the impediment immediately!”  Which is a great idea if you can.  We think, if you are honest, this is not possible.  We are imperfect in far too many ways.  Again, the Impediment List should help us attack impediments, not avoid them.

So, how do you use it?  Or use it well?

We have an hour, so let’s get into it as much as we can.

Here’s what I expect we can discuss and do:

  1. Introduce the topic, what is an impediment (or which kinds of things can be an impediment), etc.
  2. How to use the Impediment List (more) successfully. Includes concerns, setting higher level goals, engaging the managers, and addressing some key issues
  3. Identify a nice list of impediments and work with them.  Prioritize them.  Set them up for action. Get them “over the goal line”

I will of course share from my viewpoint.  I hope everyone also comes to have a good discussion, and represent their learning, issues, hopes, and concerns.  Make sure to bring your questions and talk about your real-life situations!
