Taiichi Ohno and Fujio Cho: How to make the world a better place

We owe a lot to Lean.  This is true for the Agile community and for world manufacturing, and for many other influences that they have had on us.

Taiichi Ohno was the main person who invented what we call Lean.  He worked on Toyota, to get them to change amd to invent Lean, from the early 1950’s through to the early 1980’s.  Very remarkable!

Here is one famous story in the history of Lean.  It’s about or related to Fujio Cho.

At the time the story starts, Fujio Cho is a young man.  He would later become President and then Chairman of Toyota.  I think he was President or Chairman when Toyota first was considered the biggest / best car company in the world.  While Cho definitely gets a lot of credit, I think Taiichi Ohno deserves more credit.

The Toyota saying is: “No problem is the problem.”

I hope you find this interesting.  No doubt you can achieve more than Taiichi Ohno.

As Thomas Edison said: “The three great essentials to achieve anything worthwhile are, first, hard work; second, stick-to-itiveness; third, common sense.”
