Laws of physics – Stephen Hawking
“No matter how many times the result of experiments agree with the theory, you can never be sure that the next time the result will not contradict the theory.”
This was posted on LinkedIn as a quote from Stephen Hawking. I have not confirmed that. I have guessed that Hawking said that about the “laws” of physics. Not sure about that.
Regardless, I really like this idea.
Most especially is it true of our theories about humans (individually, in teams, etc). About whom we know very little (at least compared to the true reality that is beyond our imagining).
Yogi Berra said: “In theory there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.” About the same thing. And funnier.
