To know ourselves

We are in a recession, so we think especially now that money is important.

Some of us are introvert technical guys — people skills are not our strongest skill set maybe. So we think strong technical thoughts are the most important things. But at the end of the day, I believe we live for other people.

One of deepest human desires is to know others, and also to be known.

The famous quote goes like this: “For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face. Now we know in part, but then shall I know even as also I am known.”

To me, Scrum is a journey to know the customers and what they really want, and to know the team and what they really can do. And, in the team, we get to be who we really are, and to be known for what we really are.  And what we together really can do.  Well, within the bounds of workplace norms.

This is very important and profoundly satisfying.  (It is a substantial and maybe scary change for those of us not used to having satisfying work.)
